The Planning Department is responsible for assisting City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission in all aspects of comprehensive and current planning in Glenwood Springs. This includes overseeing development and implementation of the city’s Comprehensive Plan and other long-range planning endeavors. The Department is also responsible for processing land use applications in accordance with the City’s Development Code, Title 70 of the Municipal Code. The mission of the Building Department is to provide quality services to the community in a manner that is comprehensive, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. The Building Department promotes and insures that all development in the city of Glenwood Springs is constructed in accordance with the standards of safety established by the Uniform Codes.
