[ARCHIVED] South Canyon Landfill Adds Clothing Collection Bins

Individuals can now donate clothing, shoes, and other textiles at the South Canyon Landfill in the USAgain collection bins.

There are three collection bins located at the recycle center and one bin located at the scale office. The bins at the recycle center may be accessed during normal operating hours. The bin at the scale office may be accessed after hours.

What can be Donated

  • All items deposited in the collection bins must be clean, dry, and tied in a plastic bag. A sturdy plastic bag protects the items from dirt and simplifies handling.
  • Accepted items include clothes, shoes, and house textiles (tablecloths, towels, bedding, blankets, etc.). regardless of condition.
  • Unacceptable items include mattresses, furniture, appliances, carpet, and trash.

This partnership with USAgain will help extend the life of the landfill, re-purpose usable clothing to people in need, and cut down on natural resources required for the manufacturing of new clothing.
