Asphalt work to re-deck the bridge will close the Midland Bridge to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on July 19 and 20.
The Midland Bridge, located on Midland Avenue between Devereux Road and the exit 114 roundabout, will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic on July 19 and 20. Asphalt work to re-deck the bridge will be occurring during this closure. The Colorado River and the Whitewater Park will remain open.
From the north (I-70 or HWY 6)
Vehicles traveling on I-70 should exit at 116, instead of 114, for downtown Glenwood Springs then travel south across the Grand Avenue Bridge/CO-82, then right on 8th Street and right onto Midland Avenue.
From the south (Midland Avenue)
Vehicles traveling on Midland Avenue should turn right on 8th Street, then left at the Grand Avenue Bridge/CO-82, then take I-70 westbound to exit 114 or HWY-6 to west Glenwood Springs.
Bicyclists and Pedestrians
Bicyclists and pedestrians should detour on HWY 6 from the north then right on Devereux Road and on Devereux Road then left on HWY 6 from the south.
Please note: Motorists are not recommended to detour to 27th Street as construction and possible periodic holds will be occurring due to the 27th Street Bridge construction project.
