[ARCHIVED] UPDATE ConeZone: South Midland and Park West August 12-15

Cone Zone

South Midland Avenue paving operations will be ongoing until 7 p.m. tonight (August 14). Delays are expected.

Asphalt Work

Asphalt work is scheduled for South Midland Avenue on Monday, August 12 and Tuesday, August 13. Asphalt work will continue in the Park West neighborhood Tuesday, August 13 through Thursday, August 15.

The work completed on South Midland Avenue is temporary in anticipation of the full reconstruction project beginning in 2020. All asphalt laid on this roadway that will be removed for the full reconstruction will be repurposed for future street maintenance projects with the Streets Department’s new pothole trailer.

Travel Impacts

This work will require the removal and repaving full depth sections of roadway and repairs in others. Although crews will attempt to avoid work during peak hours, motorists should anticipate delays and allow extra travel time on South Midland Avenue (Four Mile Road to 27th Street) during this segment of summer road work.

The Streets Department thanks the residents of Glenwood Springs for their patience during the ongoing street maintenance work that has been occurring across the city this summer. For more information on street projects, please visit www.cogs.us/StreetMaintenance.
