September 4-11: Night Work and Lane Closures on Bridge

Crews will be working through the night on utility construction, bridge rail concrete pours and preparation work for the bridge slide every night (except Sunday) beginning tonight, September 4 through Wednesday, September 11. Expect construction noise and lights during the night. The 27^th Street Bridge will have narrowed lanes and alternating one-way traffic beginning at 6 PM until 6 AM the following mornings.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 the 27^th Street Bridge, S. Grand Ave. intersection, Atkinson Trail and the Roaring Fork River will close and remain closed through the weekend. Crews will be working through the night all weekend. Expect heavy construction machinery and large lights at night. The new bridge is expected to open to traffic at 6 a.m. on Mon., Sept. 12. This is weather dependent.

• The 27^th Street traffic detour will be via 8th Street during the closure period.
• During the closure, there is no through river access at 27^th Street. All river users must eddy-out at or before 3-Mile Creek or put-in downstream of the 27^th Street Bridge. Call before you float to hear the latest river status, 618-5379.
• During this closure, there will be no pedestrian access at 27^th Street. The pedestrian and bicyclist detours for 27^th Street Bridge and Atkinson Trail are via the Old Cardiff Bridge or via the 14^th Street Bridge.
