ConeZone: 27th Street Bridge Update

All the concrete is poured, railing is installed and masonry is complete. Motorists can expect most traffic impacts to be wrapped up today, Wednesday, February 12th. For trucks to load out materials and wrap up punchlist items there will be a handful of minor lane closures and delays though Friday, February 21st during off peak daytime hours. This spring, when weather improves, landscaping and road re-striping will be installed by either the City or other contractors.

A sincere thank you to the Glenwood Springs community for your patience during construction. With approximately a third of city residents living south of 27th Street, these bridges are important investments in our infrastructure that will serve our community for decades to come.

27th Street Bridge Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Reminder

  • Today, Wednesday, February 12 at 2 PM
  • East end of the pedestrian bridge

City of Glenwood Springs officials invite the community to the 27th Street Bridge Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. This marks the significant completion of construction on the 27th Street traffic and pedestrian bridges. The event will include brief remarks by local officials and refreshments. The bridge will remain open during this event. Parking for this event is provided by Rivers Restaurant, however, attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool, if possible.
