Glenwood Springs Announces Anticipated Schedule for Resuming In-Person Activities at City Hall

Masks, social distancing required inside City facilities

 

Glenwood Springs, Colo. – The City of Glenwood Springs is making preparations for resuming in-person activities at City Hall. The safety of our community and City staff remains our top priority and the City will continue to follow public health protocols and recommendations in City Hall and City facilities. Masks are required at all City facilities including City Hall, the Community Center, the Downtown Recycling Center and the Landfill until further notice. “We are thrilled to start the process to meet with our community in-person again,” said Public Information Officer Bryana Starbuck. “We want everyone to be safe coming into our public civic spaces and that is why we are taking deliberate steps in our efforts towards resuming regular in-person activities.”

 

Anticipated Timeline

All public meetings for City Council and City Boards and Commissions will continue to be hosted virtually until further notice. View a summary of this timeline and updates on page three.

  • Monday, May 17: City Hall offices are open for in-person assistance by appointment at 75% capacity. Appointments can be made directly with individual City of Glenwood Springs staff members via phone or email.
  • Thursday, May 20: City Council will reevaluate the indoor mask order.
  • Monday, May 31: City Hall offices closed in observation of Memorial Day.
  • Tuesday, June 1: City Hall will reopen to public access with limited hours from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with applicable public health protocols.
  • Monday, June 7: City Hall will fully reopen to public access with regular business hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with applicable public health protocols.

Community Center

As of May 3, reservations are no longer required at the Community Center for use of the Fitness Center, Gymnasium, Rock Wall, or Aquatic Center. Reservations are recommended for fitness classes, but not required. Capacity restrictions will still apply for fitness classes and the pool. Daily drop-in fees and punch passes have also resumed. Municipal Court

As of March 30, 2021, all Court sessions are in person at City Hall and start promptly at 8 a.m. Court office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Municipal court is following public health protocols on social distancing and wearing masks indoors. Public Meetings

At this time, all public meetings and public comment for City Council and City Boards and Commissions will remain virtual. Agenda, minutes and login details for meetings are posted on the main City Hall entrance doors and can be found online at www.cogs.us/calendar.

 

City staff is investigating options for hybrid meeting participation in conjunction with City Council Chambers technology upgrades. Responses to a recent Request for Proposals for Council Chambers technology upgrades will inform the timeline for when meetings will be transitioned back to in-person and if hybrid meetings will be implemented.

 

Safety Screenings

Masks are required at all City facilities including City Hall, the Community Center, the Downtown Recycling Center and the Landfill until further notice. Hand sanitizer and disposable masks are available at City Hall entrances in addition to public health reminders throughout the building.

 

Before entering City Hall and the Community Center, please use the brief self-screening questionnaire posted at entrances to determine if is safe for you to enter. Individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are encouraged to seek testing and to utilize City services remotely.
