[ARCHIVED] South Midland Project Update, Major Paving Work to Cause Longer Delays

Keep South Midland Moving

Update 10/26, 4 PM - The continued rain today has made it difficult to resolve the degradation to the gravel road surface. Crews are addressing the issue as the weather and moisture allow. Expect one lane holds while the crews are working and longer travel times this afternoon and evening. Thank you for your patience and drive safely in the meantime.

Update 10/26, 10:30 AM - Construction is on hold today (October 26) on South Midland for repair work due to weather conditions causing severe pothole issues. Repairs are being addressed as soon as possible. Please drive carefully in the Park West and new roundabout construction areas.

Paving Work Begins November 1

Crews working along the South Midland corridor will be doing permanent paving work November 1 – November 7. Paving along Midland Avenue will extend from Park West to the north end of the newly installed downhill wall. Paving will also occur at the Airport Road, Four Mile Road, Mt. Sopris, Three Mile Road, and Cardiff Bridge Road street connections. A one-lane alternating traffic configuration will be in place during this time. Please plan ahead and expect both extended work hours and drying-time delays of up to 15 minutes. Your patience is greatly appreciated during paving operations, a critical step towards preparing the South Midland corridor for the upcoming winter break.
