Fireworks scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on December 31; 30-minute traffic hold on Devereux Road beginning at 6:50 p.m.
Ring in 2022 with the annual grand New Years celebration on December 31 in Glenwood Springs. Live music, face painting and hot cocoa is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Bethel Plaza on 7th Street. Currently fireworks are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. but are weather dependent. Special thanks to Bighorn Toyota for being an event sponsor.
This year’s fireworks display will be similar to last year with long range fireworks viewable from most parts of town. Fireworks will be discharged from Two Rivers Park which will be closed to the public during the fireworks display. Avoid the crowd and watch from home or if you plan to watch from downtown, please remember to social distance and consider wearing a face mask.
Devereux Road Traffic Hold
To allow for a safe setback during the fireworks display, there will be an approximately 30-minute traffic hold on Devereux Road beginning at 6:50 p.m. There will be no through traffic between Centennial Street and Two Rivers Plaza Road.
For access to Iron Mountain Hot Springs during this time, use the Midland Avenue entrance on to Devereux Road near the exit 114 roundabouts then follow Devereux to Centennial Road. Access to the Glenwood Caverns, hotels and Land Rover, will remain open via the Devereux Road and Highway 6 and 24 intersection.
