[ARCHIVED] Phone Scam Alert

Scam Alert Banner

The City of Glenwood Springs has received reports of an auto-dialer scam call claiming to be from the City threatening to turn off electricity in the next 30 minutes if you don’t pay. The call came from a phone number ending in 8987, but it is possible that fraudulent calls may come from other phone numbers. If you ever receive a suspicious phone call, hang up and call our City Utility Billing at 970-384-6455 or come to City Hall directly. Before potential disconnection, the City will ALWAYS hang a door flyer 24 hours in advance. The City never performs disconnections for non-payment on the weekend. Please use caution on all incoming phone calls.
