The City looks forward to a safe return of the market on July 12.
City of Glenwood Springs staff continues to work with the Downtown Market and has issued an amended permit for a farmer’s market on 7th Street. The permit was revoked by city staff following the incident on June 28, 2022 which resulted in an injury.
The City has reviewed all prior permit requirements with the Downtown Market and determined additional requirements related to safety needed to be implemented to help ensure the safety of vendors and the public to allow the Downtown Market to reopen.
As a result of the incident on June 28 the City implemented new safety checks across all relevant facility and event permits. Staff will contact applicable permit holders to update them on the new protocols.
“As a City we are committed to the safety of our citizens and our visitors,” said City Manager Debra Figueroa. “We have worked hard with the Downtown Market to make sure that safety is the first priority.”
