Updates for Leaves in the Right of and Snow RemovalOrdinance 11 amending sections 090.040.070, 090.040.080 and 100.070.030 will be effective beginning October 22, 2021. These changes to the municipal code prohibit leaves, snow, garbage, or other debris from private property to be deposited onto a public street, sidewalk, or other public property. Keeping these items from collecting in the curbs and gutters is important to street sweeping operations. These specific regulations add to the already stated section which requires owners to keep sidewalks, curbs and gutters clean and maintained.

Leaf Collection SiteThrough November 30, residents of Glenwood Springs can drop off their fallen leaves at the old rodeo grounds, adjacent to the airport.
The service is free but is only open to residents of Glenwood Springs. The collection site is not available for use by commercial operators. Leaves can be dropped off at any time of day.
When dropping off leaves, please take them out of the plastic bag and ensure any stones, litter, branches or other debris have been removed from your leaves to prevent equipment damage and worker injuries.

Get Involved and Volunteer for a City Board or CommissionThe City of Glenwood Springs is accepting applications from residents to serve on boards and commissions to provide advice on a variety of important topics. Applications for all boards and commissions are available online at www.cogs.us/volunteer. Currently, there are 17 open seats. Recommendations and insights from these advisory boards and commissions play an important role in guiding the progression of our City. Regular meetings for each group are held once monthly. This opportunity is an excellent way to get involved in the community and your local government and help shape the future of Glenwood Springs.

South Canyon Area Parks & Management Plan OutreachThe City of Glenwood Springs is embarking on a public process to inform a future management plan for approximately 3,000 acres of designated parkland in the South Canyon area, west of the City municipal limits. The key deliverable of the fall 2021 process will be a summary of public outreach regarding the various uses of the area and related issues to help facilitate future area management planning by the City. This report is anticipated to be presented to City Council in December 2021 and will lay the groundwork for a Request for Proposals to Develop Area Management Plan (if funding allows).

Sayre Park Phase I ImprovementsPhase I of the Sayre Park Improvements are nearly complete! This year crews made the northwest portion of the park accessible, constructed three new basketball courts, installed ADA curb ramps and pathways, modified irrigation for efficiency, installed new benches and improved the stair access to mid-level fields.
In the coming weeks, lighting and new basketball hoops will be installed. The new hoops include a pair of height adjustable hoops to accommodate younger players. Special thank you to Grand River Construction for generously providing approximately 60% of the phase I project construction costs pro-bono. |

We appreciate the time everyone took to share feedback. Results and responses have been shared with City Council and are being reviewed by City Staff. Your responses help us gauge and understand your thoughts about the quality of life in Glenwood Springs, city services, city policies, and more.In addition to informing decision-making and identifying budget priorities moving forward, your input will help spark additional community conversations and will inform the base information for the Comprehensive Plan update. The update process is anticipated to start in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more information.
